Bobby gets a bad rap, mostly because he is so annoying and is such a miserable curmudgeon. However, Bob is one of the finest old timey shoe leather reporters around. Regularly featured page one of The New York Times and often in our very own Chicago Sun-Times. (I am frankly surprised he ever made it through the front door of the building without quickly being escorted from the premises but what do I know?) Bob’s frequent feuding with the late, great Tony Fitzpatrick was utterly hilarious at times. Bob really got under Tony’s skin and I could never understand why. I just ignored Bob when he’d bash our beloved White Sox with his dim-witted humor. But it dawned on me recently that Tony truly loved Bob no matter how irritating he was. And, incidentally, Bob wrote that resolution and nailed it. So heres to you Bob! I will never break my promise to our dearly beloved deceased friend and stop busting your chops but we all still love you no matter how hard you make it for us! #peanutparktrattoria #littleitaly
